How to treat your porcelain doll?
For cleaning use only white tissues and work in a well illuminated environement.
Daylight: direct sunlight can cause problems with bleaching of doll clothes.
Artificial light: artificial light can bleach dolls clothes. Place your dolls at the safe distance from lighting source. Lighting should be indirect and we recomend the use of a UV-filter.
Light in dolls cases and show-cases: Do not put any lighting source directly in the show-cases (except cold light with UV-filters).
Bare wood: Bare wood contains acid matter called lignine. Don´t lay or lean your doll directly on wood. Line any wood with some textile.
Temperature: The ideal temperature for your dolls is between 18 - 21 °C (temperature may vary about 10 %).
Dolls easels: Metallic easels can cause damage an the point of long-term contact with the doll.
Moth-balls (naphtaline): Moth-balls should not come into direct contact with your doll.
Humidity: When the environment in your glass show-case is too wet, use humidity absorbing granules. Your case should not be air-tight - your doll needs to breath! If the air inside is too dry, humidity can be increased by a saucer of water placed in the bottom of a case. Humidit should be kept at a stable level.
Dirt and dust: Keep your dolls in closed cases. Dirt and dust can attract insects and damage dolls clothes.
Washing the hair: wash the hair very carefully, especially hair made of mohair (caddice). For synthetic and human hair you may use conditioner. Use fine liquid soap or baby shampoo.
